11th annual meeting - 2018 - Glasgow - Friday 9th and Saturday 10th November

We were very pleased to host the 11th Scottish Spine Surgeons’ Meeting in Glasgow. Thank you to all for working with us to achieve such a fun, educational and interesting meeting. Over 50 professionals gathered over the two days to do the best for our patients gathered over the two days.

We were hosted very well by the team at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.

Thanks to all the invited presenters who gave practice changing talks. A particular thanks to those talks from colleagues outside of Scotland: Mr Robin Pillay, Mr David Jaffray and Mr Mel Grainger.

Congratulations to all the free paper presenters who represented their teams with distinction and started many passionate discussions. The judges scored on a combination of academic and message communication merit.

Congratulations to Fraser (Mr Riddoch) achieving the first prize award for paper 5 - “Mortality of Combined Fractures of Atlas (C1) and Axis (C2) in Adults.”

Well done to Simon (Mr Roberts) for the second prize award for paper 2 - "Early results of anterior vertebral body tethering (AVBT) in the treatment of idiopathic scoliosis (IS).”

All of this could not have been possible without the generous support of the sponsors keeping this event free to us as health care professionals. They not only funded the venues and accommodation at the Hilton but sent representatives to show us spine products.

Until next year’s 12th Scottish Spine Surgeons meeting - Edinburgh 1st and 2nd November 2019…

Best Wishes
